The Internal Affairs Committee of the Legislative Yuan will handle the amendment bill of the Recall Law next week, but there are concerns within the blue camp that it should wait until after the recall case of Keelung Mayor Xie Guoliang is resolved. In response, Kuomintang Chairman Eric Chu emphasized the need to review the recall system, irrespective of whether the threshold is raised or not, and stressed that the Legislative Yuan's discussion on the Recall Law has nothing to do with Xie Guoliang's recall case. Chu expressed concerns over the use of hatred and conflict in opposing a mayor, calling for a discussion on establishing a stable system for long-term governance.
