Despite being affiliated with the pro-Taiwan independence faction, Zhang's actions were endorsed by both Lai and Secretary Poon Meng-an, indicating their approval. Zhang's background in media and communication, along with his experience in various political campaigns, has positioned him as a key figure in the present administration.
