Random Attacks on Foreigners in China Continue: Japanese Mother and Son Attacked in Suzhou

Reported 8 months ago

In the span of just two weeks, China saw its second violent attack on foreigners when a Japanese mother and son were stabbed by a Chinese man in Suzhou while waiting for a bus. Despite these incidents, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs downplayed the severity, labeling the attacks as isolated incidents. The attacks have sparked concerns in the Japanese community, prompting the Japanese Consulate in Shanghai to urge Suzhou authorities to enhance safety measures and the Japanese government to seek assurances for the safety of Japanese nationals in China.
