During the Dragon Boat Festival, people enjoy eating zongzi, but many types have high calories, leading to guilt. Nutritionists advise on healthy zongzi consumption to avoid weight gain, pointing out that the 'Guangzhou Lotus Leaf Zongzi' tops the calorie list at over 1000 kcal per piece, followed by sticky rice zongzi and northern-style zongzi. General public are encouraged to pair zongzi with blanched vegetables for balanced nutrition, limit dipping sauce to reduce sodium and calorie intake. Individuals with diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and acid reflux need to be extra cautious with zongzi consumption, controlling portion sizes and maintaining a balanced diet. Exercise is also recommended to burn off the consumed calories.
