A rare intersex tortoiseshell kitten was found at an Oregon humane society, initially mistaken for a female before being identified as a male with both testicles and a vulva, indicating an XXY genetic makeup. The kitten, named Cinder, was described as a 'unicorn' by shelter workers due to the rarity of male tortoiseshell cats, with one veterinarian stating that it might be a once-in-a-career discovery. Cinder has since been adopted.
