On June 6th, Japanese police arrested a 57-year-old Iranian man and his accomplice for smuggling over 1,000 pairs of shorts into Japan with 12,000 drug-laced buttons sewn onto them, a highly unusual method according to Japanese media. The men planned to extract the drug from the buttons for illegal sale. The case is being investigated for possible involvement with foreign drug trafficking groups, with the recipient address being a clothing store in Japan's Aichi Prefecture.
