Real Total Wages Increase by 1.35% Year-on-Year from January to April for the First Time in Nearly 3 Years, Reasons Revealed

Domestic demand surges! The Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics announced that in April, the industrial and service sector wages saw a year-on-year increase of 1.35% for the period of January to April, marking the first positive growth in nearly three years, driven by strong domestic and foreign demand. Regular wages in the industry and service sector from January to April reached 46,105 Yuan, up 2.39% from the previous year, while total wages hit 67,856 Yuan, a 3.62% increase, the highest in nearly six years. The rise is attributed to increasing demand in the service sector and foreign markets. Additionally, in April, the average regular salary for all employed workers was 46,321 Yuan with a 2.77% annual increase.
