Cyle Zezo, a former CW producer, founded Reality of Change in 2023 to incorporate environmental issues into reality TV shows and promote sustainability efforts behind the scenes. Partnering with environmental nonprofit Rare, they aim to enhance sustainability in production companies and issue a report on improvements. Emphasizing lifestyle and home improvement shows as entry points, Zezo believes sustainability can be integrated into any genre of reality TV, such as seen in shows like Extreme E and RuPaul's Drag Race. The initiative also focuses on implementing sustainable production practices and reducing the environmental footprint of unscripted TV.
