According to a December 2023 survey by Intelligent.com, one in five employers have reported that recent college graduates have brought a parent to their job interviews. The survey, involving 800 U.S. hiring professionals, highlights concerns over the unpreparedness and lack of professionalism of recent graduates entering the workforce. Employers noted issues such as difficulty maintaining eye contact, demanding unreasonable salaries, inappropriate attire, and lack of readiness for job interviews. Employers are also facing challenges with graduates' workplace behaviors like inability to handle workloads, tardiness, missed deadlines, and poor communication skills, prompting a need for additional training and support to help new hires succeed.
