While hiking in Hunan, she came across the rare 'Montane Pitviper,' a nationally protected Chinese wildlife species, and went up to take a photo with it, being criticized by netizens for acting recklessly. The incident sparked discussion online, with some suggesting she let the snake bite her for more online attention, despite the serious consequences of the snake's strong venom. The Montane Pitviper is known for its large head, triangular shape, reaching over 2 meters in length, and is exclusive to Mainland China, mainly found in Hunan and Guangdong provinces. Classified as an endangered species in 1994, its venom contains potent coagulant toxins averaging about 300 milligrams, resulting in severe consequences if attacked and bitten.
