Two extremes of weather have been observed in China, with the northern regions facing scorching temperatures exceeding 40 degrees resulting in drought and crop loss, while the southern areas are experiencing continuous heavy rain and flooding. Guangdong has recorded rainfall breaking an 18-year record, while Beijing saw intense thunderstorms and hailstorms. This weather pattern poses challenges with both drought in the north and floods in the south.
