In Changsha, China on June 24, 2024, heavy rainfall led to widespread flooding with some areas accumulating so much water that the subway resembled a swimming pool. Within one hour, over 700 million cubic meters of rain fell, equivalent to 54 West Lakes. The rainfall broke records for the region with reports of areas resembling water bodies, cars stalled in the middle of flooded streets, and even the train station resembling a dock due to the deluge.
