A record-breaking drug smuggling case was uncovered at a port of entry in Arizona, U.S. on June 11, 2024, where an illegal drug trafficking group attempted to bring in 'over 3 million' fentanyl pills, methamphetamine, weapons, and tens of thousands of ammunition into the US and Mexico. The examination by the DEA revealed that the fentanyl pills contained high doses, with 7 out of 10 pills containing 'lethal doses of fentanyl'. Authorities expressed concerns that just this quantity of drugs seized is alarming, and if these fentanyl and methamphetamine pills were to flood the market, 'they could kill 25 million people, equivalent to almost 4 times the population of Arizona!'
