During the holiday season of November and December, US online shopping reached a record $282 billion, marking a 4% increase from the previous year, as reported by Salesforce. The growth was driven by social media platforms and AI recommendations, even as the return rate of products rose by 28%, with an estimated $133 billion expected to be returned. While mobile and social shopping surged, discounts were also prevalent, averaging 23% off across various categories.
