On June 9, 2024, at 10:26 PM, religious ceremonies took place at the near 40-year-old Jin Xin Building in Taipei's Zhongshan District, known as the 'Haunted Building' due to numerous past accidents, including a fire 39 years ago that claimed 19 lives. Recently, a large group of red-clad individuals congregated outside the building as the security from Taipei's Zun Wang Palace, accompanied by representatives from two temples, conducted a ritual to 'sweep away evil spirits.' This building, formerly the Times Hotel, has a history of tragic incidents, with around 30 deaths occurring on its premises. The presence of the temples and rumors of supernatural encounters have unsettled local residents, leading to the protective patrols and cleansing activities.
