Reported 9 months ago

After the 0403 earthquake, the Hualien County Fire Department's second squad in Shoufeng Township suffered damage to their borrowed classroom building and needed relocation and rebuilding. The Red Cross Society of the Republic of China signed contracts with the county government to assist in rebuilding the fire station and constructing a disaster relief center in Heping Village along the Suhua Highway. These projects total nearly NT$200 million, with the fire station relocation costing over NT$112 million and the disaster relief center around NT$90 million. Various organizations, including the Taipei Ren'ai Lions Club, have also contributed funds for Hualien's recovery and reconstruction efforts.
