With summer break approaching, students will have more free time, posing a risk of being lured into scams due to their lack of experience and vulnerability to monetary temptations. To prevent students from becoming fraudsters, the Keelung City Police Department's Youth Police Team visited Guanglong Junior High School on June 21st to educate students using real-life examples and enhance their self-protection awareness. The police team shared various scam techniques related to online shopping and ticket purchases, emphasized making purchases from websites with verification mechanisms, and cautioned against engaging in transactions through unknown webpage links or social media channels to prevent unlawful activities. They also advised students against selling or giving away personal identification documents, bankbooks, ATM cards, and seals easily, and encouraged seeking parental guidance before online shopping or engaging in short-term employment, urging anyone suspicious of fraud or criminal activities to contact emergency hotlines for assistance in combating fraud.
