Renault Reduces Prices on Budget Electric Cars Amid Stricter Emissions Regulations

Reported 1 day ago

Renault's Dacia brand has lowered the price of its entry-level electric vehicle by 2,000 euros in France, in response to stagnant EV sales and new EU emissions rules. The Dacia Spring model will now start at 16,900 euros, as car manufacturers across Europe prepare for price cuts to meet the requirement that at least 20% of their sales be electric to avoid penalties. Despite the price reduction, Dacia's Spring will feature a less powerful engine while maintaining the same driving range as its higher-priced counterpart.
