According to SET News on July 2, 2024, the famous congee and side dishes restaurant 'Xiao Lizhi' on Fuxing South Road in Taipei is set to be demolished and rebuilt next year. The total area of Xiao Lizhi's site and surrounding apartments is 240 ping, with plans to start demolition early next year to build a 17-story residential building with units ranging from 20 to 30 ping each, estimated to have a total sales value of around 10 billion NTD. The future of 'Xiao Lizhi' remains uncertain as the owner has stated that they are just tenants and will have to find another location if the landlord decides to rebuild.
