The Beijing Extreme Sports Association announced the passing of Zhang Lei, a veteran figure in the Chinese parkour community and a former champion in parkour competitions, on June 12th at the age of 39 due to a heart attack. Zhang not only excelled in parkour but also worked as a stunt double for renowned actor Jet Li in various movies. An active promoter of parkour in China, Zhang's contributions to the sport since its introduction in 2007 have been significant, organizing events and working with the entertainment industry to popularize parkour.
