This isn't the first time this vessel has crossed the line, as it had previously engaged in similar practices in 2021, resulting in heavy fines. The act of finning sharks, which is cruel, is prohibited in many countries and considered a violation in Taiwan as well. The authorities are taking action to address the situation and prevent such violations from recurring.
