On June 23rd in Chiayi, a 65-year-old female hiker fell 50 meters down a slope on Bei Xia Mountain. Despite sustaining a fractured sternum, she was conscious. The fire department utilized a relay-carry method to transport the injured hiker to the base and then sent her to St. Martin de Porres Hospital for treatment. Due to the difficult terrain caused by loose soil and rocks, rescue vehicles couldn't reach the hiker directly. Authorities urge climbers to prioritize safety by monitoring their physical condition, weather updates, and trail information during mountain activities.
