On June 23, 2024, at 11:25 PM, the Chiayi County Fire Department received a report about a 65-year-old woman who had fallen 50 meters down a slope on North Xia Mountain Road in Alishan Township, sustaining head injuries but remaining conscious. The rescue team arrived and used ropes to drag her to the trail before taking turns carrying her down the mountain to an ambulance, taking a total of 8 hours. The steep terrain made the rescue challenging, emphasizing the importance of hikers being cautious of their physical condition and weather conditions to prevent accidents.
