Recent research from the Sorbonne and Columbia University reveals that heavily processed foods like packaged snacks and ready meals can disrupt sleep patterns and contribute to insomnia experienced by about 1 in 3 adults globally. The study found a significant link between consuming food with preservatives, emulsifiers, and colorings and chronic insomnia, independent of other factors. This highlights the negative impact of 'ultra-processed' snacks on health conditions like diabetes, obesity, and cancer, emphasizing the importance of healthy dietary habits in improving sleep quality.
