Reported 8 months ago

On the morning of June 20, 2024, at 5:51 AM, the head of Sanchong Police Station, Wang Zuoling, explained the case. The police in Sanchong received intelligence that an individual in a residential house in the city was suspected of possessing a large amount of cigarette bullets. A special task force was immediately formed to collect evidence and investigate. They obtained a search warrant from the New Taipei District Court and apprehended a man surnamed Dong (born in 1989) on June 13th. A large quantity of various flavored cigarette bullets were found in his home, resembling a cigarette bullet wholesale factory. Dong, who was unemployed and relied on selling cigarette bullets for a living, would purchase the bullets from the upstream through the internet and then sell them to other customers through online messaging apps. The seized cigarette bullets, totaling 4,189, with an estimated market value of about NT$1 million, were found to contain the Class III drug ketamine. Dong claimed ignorance of the presence of ketamine in the cigarette bullets, but was still investigated for violating the Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act and was subsequently released on bail of NT$10,000. The head of Sanchong Police Substation, Huang Nanshan, emphasized the importance of collective efforts to combat drug-related crimes, especially with electronic cigarette bullets becoming a new form of drug abuse among young people. He urged the public to reject drugs and report any suspicious activities to maintain social order.
