On June 18, 2024, Lin Liang-jun, a Taipei City councilor, held a press conference with members of the Binjiang Sewage Treatment Plant Self-Help Association. They accused the former mayor Ko Wen-je's city government of planning to plant trees around the Binjiang Water Resources Recycling Center, leading to dissatisfaction among residents who felt their homes were being unfairly acquired for tree planting. Current mayor Jiang Wan-an's administration was criticized for hasty acquisitions before property evaluations, with accusations of favoring corporations over common residents. The Association demanded the withdrawal of the acquisition announcement to uphold residential justice and revise planning configurations.
