On June 25, 2024, in Taipei City, the Health Bureau conducted inspections on vegetables and fruits in restaurants and supermarkets, with more than 20% found non-compliant, including well-known establishments like Shin Yeh Taiwanese Cuisine, Chao Wei Jue, and Breeze Supermarket. Although the pesticides detected have low toxicity, prolonged consumption may impact endocrine functions. The Health Bureau advises people to wash vegetables and fruits with running water for 5 minutes before cooking for safety. Violating products are required to be removed and destroyed, and fines for companies range from 60,000 to 20 million NT dollars.
