Wang Leehom has decided to withdraw from performing at the Golden Melody Awards after controversy arose regarding his past behaviors, including private moral issues. He was initially invited to perform Coco Lee's classic songs, but due to the public's criticism, he chose to step down to avoid overshadowing Coco Lee's contributions to Mandarin music. The Ministry of Culture respected Wang Leehom's decision and canceled the performance. Coco Lee's sister responded with eight words, stating respect for Leehom's decision.
