On June 27th, the US, Japan, and South Korea launched the 'Freedom Edge' joint exercise for the first time, focusing on strengthening defense capabilities against evolving regional threats. The exercise involved the USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier strike group, Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force vessels, and South Korean naval ships conducting drills in the East Sea south of Jeju Island. The exercise addressed new threats from China and North Korea with a variety of combat and non-combat scenarios, showcasing the strong joint defense posture of the three nations.
