Response from InSignal Telecommunication to Accusations by Hsu Chiao-Hsin: Public Opinion Analysis Data Derived from Public Information on the Internet, No Privacy Violation

Reported about 1 year ago

InSignal Telecommunication, a subsidiary of Chunghwa Telecom, stated that the internet public opinion analysis services they provide are sourced from publicly available online information. This comes in response to allegations made by Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) Legislator Hsu Chiao-Hsin that the data used by Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Policy Committee Executive Wang Yi-Chuan may have originated from InSignal Telecommunication. InSignal Telecommunication clarified that their services involve analyzing web sentiment using search engine programs to gather public data, completely excluding any personal information privacy concerns. The company emphasized its compliance with regulations, legal operations, and data protection practices, hoping the public would provide a fair and objective assessment while focusing on their core business operations and governance.
