As graduation season approaches, the restaurant industry in Taiwan is facing a shortage of manpower and preparing for expansion in the second half of the year by initiating salary increase plans. Many job positions, even for inexperienced individuals, are offering starting salaries of over 40,000 NTD, with some places like Din Tai Fung raising the salary for inexperienced servers up to 50,000 NTD. Restaurants like Toku Sushi and San Chong Food & Beverage are also planning salary adjustments in July. The industry is experiencing a 25-30% labor shortage, leading to substantial increases in personnel costs, with starting salaries rising annually in hopes of attracting talent.
