A retired couple surnamed Zhou in Taipei repeatedly purchased accident or accidental injury insurance from over ten insurance companies over the span of a decade, fabricating accidents and misusing insurance claims to profit. The Criminal Investigation Bureau arrested the couple on suspicion of fraud and money laundering, with investigations revealing that they acquired falsified medical documents to claim insurance payouts and even resold high-priced Chinese herbal medicine for additional gains. The couple acquired a total of over NT$55 million in fraudulent insurance claims before being reported by insurance companies and apprehended by authorities.
