The Criminal Investigation Bureau's 7th Division recently arrested a husband and wife in Taiwan for defrauding insurance companies of 55.04 million New Taiwan dollars over a decade. The couple, both former English teachers, submitted numerous claims for minor injuries like 'falling while walking' to multiple insurers, accruing a total of nearly 1,000 injury incidents from falls. They would then use the fraudulent insurance payouts to live a lavish retirement lifestyle, purchasing luxury items and properties like villas and farmland with the ill-gotten gains. The couple now face charges of fraud and money laundering.
