Chairman Lin Binghui of Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation and KGI Securities believes that his personal retirement fund of NT$14.03 million is sufficient. A survey conducted by KGI Securities' 'Good Retirement Preparation Platform' unveiled that 60% of the population consider 'retirement preparation' as the most important financial goal, with an average expected retirement fund of NT$14.03 million. The survey indicates an increased awareness of retirement preparation compared to the previous survey in 2020, with only 35.3% confident in achieving their retirement fund goals and an average expected retirement age of 62.5 years. It is recommended to start regular long-term investments early for retirement savings to benefit from compound interest, with an example showing that starting at 30 to 40 years old with monthly investments of NT$5,000 to NT$8,000 at an average annual return of 4% to 6% could accumulate at least NT$6 million to NT$8 million by age 65.
