A recent Vanguard report reveals that baby boomers are the least prepared for retirement, with only 40% on track to maintain their current lifestyle. This discrepancy is attributed to limited access to retirement plans in their early working years and shorter time to recover from under-saving. In contrast, younger generations like Gen Z and millennials are faring better, with nearly half on track for a secure retirement. Baby boomers can still take steps to improve their readiness, including maximizing their savings, delaying retirement, and adjusting their lifestyle accordingly.
