The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has filed lawsuits against music automatic generation services Suno and Udio for using unauthorized recorded content to train AI models. RIAA accused Suno and Udio separately in Massachusetts District Court and New York Southern District Court, with Sony Music, Universal Music, and Warner Music as plaintiffs. RIAA claims that Suno and Udio trained their AI models with a large amount of copyrighted recorded content, seeking injunctions and damages for copyright infringement. Furthermore, RIAA emphasized that AI technology must adhere to copyright laws for industry development, citing previous accusations against Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI for unauthorized news content usage in AI training.
