FTNN News, June 26, 2024 - The first-generation wealthy descendant, Lin Chen-Yan, was outraged as the city government excavated his parents' graves in compliance with urban redevelopment plans, despite his objections, and plans to seek justice through administrative litigation. The city government defended its actions, stating that the graves were located in designated redevelopment areas and had been notified for relocation multiple times, with the last notice expiring on June 19, 2017. Due to the family's refusal to comply, the city enacted the exhumation on June 18, 2024, following all legal procedures. The dispute highlights the clash between private property rights and urban development initiatives.
