In the recent European Parliament elections, the far-right Identity and Democracy (ID) group gained 58 seats out of 720, challenging the mainstream pro-EU officials' dominance. Parties like the European People's Party (EPP) and Socialists & Democrats (S&D) emerged as the major groups. The rise of the far-right, including Germany's Alternative for Germany (AfD) and France's National Rally (RN) led by Marine Le Pen, reflects a shift towards right-leaning policies. Le Pen's RN secured 31.5% of the vote, while AfD in Germany gained 15.6%. The rightward trend is also evident among younger voters, raising concerns about the future direction of EU policies and member state politics.
