A new form of cyber violence in Mainland China called 'opening the box to target people' involves maliciously exposing netizens' real names, ID numbers, phone numbers, and addresses to provoke online attacks and abuse for fun or profit. Victims face message bombardment, strangers appearing near their homes to mock them, and even receiving mysterious packages. Perpetrators, benefiting from online anonymity, specifically target popular livestreamers, celebrities, or influencers to expand their influence, with services now available to launch attacks for as little as 4-5,000 New Taiwan Dollars. This disruptive and invasive behavior has prompted government intervention to maintain order and protect personal information.
