Housing market experts suggest that if property prices remain high, the market for capsule hotels may continue to grow. In Taipei's Wanhua District, monthly capsule hotel rentals as small as 200cm*100cm, inclusive of bathroom facilities and common areas, are attracting young professionals and elderly retirees for as low as NT$6,000 per month. The rise of capsule hotels is attributed to the high property prices in Taipei and the screening mechanisms of tenants. Factors like lower rental costs, professional cleaning of shared facilities, and good living amenities contribute to the growing preference for capsule hotels among individuals with lower incomes in the face of soaring housing costs.
