In Hualien, continuous heavy rain has caused rivers to swell, leading to three tourists getting trapped while playing by the river on the evening of July 2nd. They were fortunately rescued by patrolling police officers. Despite ongoing delays in clearing the landslides on the Chongde section of the Suhua Highway, traffic is expected to resume by 2 p.m. Three tourists, including one Canadian, were playing by the river when they were quickly trapped by the rising waters, necessitating a timely rescue by the police to prevent any injuries. Various areas, including the Hualien City, were also affected by the heavy rain, with flooded roads and stranded vehicles reported. The upcoming Hualien Summer Love Carnival, featuring popular artists such as Zhou Tanghao and Five Strong, may also be impacted by the inclement weather and resulting road closures.
