Road cycling at the Paris 2024 Olympics will feature two events for both men and women - the road race and the time trial. The men's road race will be 273km long with 2,800m of ascent, while the women's will be 158km with 1,700m of ascent. Both races start at Trocadero and pass through famous Parisian landmarks before heading out to the challenging terrain of the Chevreuse Valley. The time trial will be a solo effort over a flat 32.4km course, marking the first time men and women will race the same time trial course over the same distance in Olympic history. Italy has won the most Olympic medals in road cycling with 20, while the Netherlands have won the most gold medals with 10. Great Britain has won 16 road cycling Olympic medals, with two golds won by Nicole Cooke and Sir Bradley Wiggins.
