According to a recent survey in the United States, a person is shot every 18 hours in a road rage incident. From 2014 to 2023, there was a 400% increase in road rage shootings, leading to a total of 3095 people shot and 777 fatalities. Georgia has seen a significant rise in road rage shootings, jumping from zero in 2014 to 197 in 2023. Atlanta is a hotspot for such incidents due to collisions, near-misses, or other illegal driving behaviors triggering the shootings.
