In a rural village in Guizhou Province, China, debris from a Long March 2C carrier rocket, which had launched a Sino-French cooperative monitoring satellite, fell unexpectedly, causing panic among residents. Witnesses captured footage of the debris emitting orange smoke upon impact near Xianqiao Village in Guizhou Province. Rocket experts identified the fallen debris as the first-stage booster of the Long March 2C carrier rocket, which contains toxic and carcinogenic orange smoke. Prior warnings had been issued to evacuate the area hours before the launch, emphasizing the dangers of toxic gases and explosions from the debris. The incident raised concerns about China's methods for handling rocket debris in the atmosphere. No casualties have been reported at the site.
