Shanghai Commercial Bank held a shareholders' meeting on June 21, 2024, and elected a new board of directors, appointing Li Qingyan and Rong Kangxin as executive directors, with Chen Muzai as an independent executive director. Li Qingyan was elected chairman and Rong Kangxin as vice chairman of the board. Rong Kangxin, a fourth-generation descendant of the major shareholder of Shanghai Commercial Bank, has taken the first step in generational succession, with plans for a gradual handover. With a Master's degree from the University of Chicago, Rong Kangxin has held various positions in banks and at Shanghai Commercial Bank before assuming the role of vice chairman. The shareholders' meeting also approved financial reports and a cash dividend distribution of 1.8 yuan per share, reflecting a dividend yield of about 3.93% based on the closing price on the 21st.
