In the upcoming season 2 of Prime Video's "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power," Rory Kinnear has been cast as the fan-favorite character Tom Bombadil, who was not featured in the Peter Jackson films. The character will encounter other key figures on a journey to eastern Middle-earth, with showrunners hinting at a slightly more interventionist portrayal of Bombadil than in the books. Kinnear plans to portray Bombadil with a Cornish accent, and the season is set to premiere on August 29, introducing new characters and elements from J.R.R. Tolkien's world.
