A rugby player in Namibia has been banned for life after charging at a referee during a match last month. The player, who remains unnamed by the Namibia Rugby Union, tackled the referee to the ground in response to a yellow card shown to his teammate. The incident led to a red card for the player and the match being abandoned. In addition to a lifetime playing ban, the player received a 156-week ban from all rugby activities. The ban was imposed due to the severity of the offense, potential for serious injury to the referee, and negative impact on the sport's reputation.
