Following the strong push for the Legislative Yuan Powers Exercise Act by the Kuomintang and the People First Party, concerns over expanded powers have sparked dissatisfaction exceeding 50%, prompting a rush to amend the Recall Act to raise the recall threshold. Premier Su Tseng-chang stated that the people will not accept the expansion of powers by public agencies, urging lawmakers to 'respect boundaries,' emphasizing that the current law constitutes a contract between voters and representatives that should not be violated. According to a survey by the 'Formosa News,' 34.4% of the public have favorable views towards the Kuomintang, while 54.0% have unfavorable views; similarly, the People First Party has favorable ratings from 34.7% of the public and unfavorable ratings from 50.5%. Premier Su Tseng-chang, who attended a legislative hearing this morning, stressed in a media interview before the session that the people would not accept any expansion of powers by public agencies during their term, emphasizing the importance of lawmakers respecting boundaries.
