Russia allows Gasoline Export Continuing amid Ample Domestic Supply

Reported 12 months ago

The Russian government has extended permits for the country's refineries to export gasoline for another month until July 31, as the domestic market remains well supplied. The decision was made to prevent a shortage of fuel and a surge in prices, with the current stockpiles meeting local demand in full. The earlier export regulations have proved efficient, and the ban on gasoline exports was temporarily lifted as domestic supplies were more than sufficient. Restrictions on gasoline exports were initially implemented to prevent shortages and price increases during President Vladimir Putin's campaign for a fifth term, as well as in response to Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian refineries.
