On June 24, 2024, at 7:57 am, tourists on a beach heard a series of shelling sounds, causing panic and escape. Ukraine attacked the Crimea city of Sevastopol, annexed by Russia, on the 23rd using 5 US-provided Army Tactical Missile Systems missiles, resulting in over a hundred innocent civilians injured, including 3 children and 2 adults dead, with 5 children in intensive care. Russia's Defense Ministry demands Washington and Kyiv take responsibility for the attack. However, Ukraine and the US have not commented on the Sevastopol attack yet. On the 22nd, Russia escalated hostilities by launching missiles hitting a residential building in Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, causing 3 deaths and 52 injuries, including children. Ukrainian President Zelensky stated that Russia had fired over 2400 missiles at Ukraine since early June, with about 700 aimed at Kharkiv. He requested the West allow them to use foreign aid weapons to attack Russian air bases but awaited US approval.
